Elvaston Castle Hall of Fair Star
I first met Mel and Ian at Elvaston Castle when I was doing a styled shoot with Bobbi Wren Events. They had just done the legal part of their marriage with just a few close relatives and were having a walk around the grounds of Elvaston Park when Bryony, the shoot organiser spotted them and dragged them into the gothic hall for a few snaps.
A few months later they were ready to have their big celebration and chose the Hall of Fair Star where I first met them, for their ceremony and they came back to me and asked me to be their photographer. I was delighted to get the opportunity of returning to this stunning and unique venue.
After their ceremony we used some of the unique features of Elvaston Park including the parterrre garden, the rock arch and the backdrop of the castle itself to capture some family group shots and some portraits of the newlyweds.
The couple held their reception at Derby Cricket Ground where they have a huge marquee especially for weddings and events. I was particularly pleased that the disco had a fantastic lighting set up, which made for some stunning first dance pictures.
