Donington Park Farmhouse
Philippa and Mark got married at Donington Park Farmhouse just as the country was coming out of yet another lockdown caused by the Corona Virus pandemic. It meant a more restricted guest list due to the government’s guidance at the time and I was worried that the photography might be a bit tame if everyone was keeping their distance and wearing masks. However, I needn’t have worried. It was a beautiful sunny day so most of the celebrations happened outside where rules could be relaxed a little and even a bit of dancing was permitted.
Philippa had gone old-school in preparation for the big day as the rules dictated that if she wanted her Dad to walk her down the aisle, she had to have been staying with him in the nights prior to the wedding. So getting ready shots were done at her Mum and Dad’s house with all her sisters as bridesmaids in attendance.
I love the way the couple had styled their wedding with gorgeous bright sunflowers arranged by Em’z Flower Boutique and all the groomsmen in sharp navy suits with mustard and burgundy accessories. Even the groomsman who was stuck over in New Zealand was in matching attire as he appeared on a video link for the whole day and had his own cardboard cutout for the group shots.
Donington Park Farmhouse has loads of great set ups for portrait shots so we got a good variety of images of the newlyweds including over in the field opposite the site where there is a derelict barn that makes a great backdrop. Whether you are looking for rural or a more industrial vibe for your photos this venue has lots to offer. We finished the evening with a shot under the fairylit patio.
