The Folly at The Farmhouse
The Folly at The Farmhouse is a local pub venue but with a dedicated space for weddings that is spacious, bright and versatile. With beautifully decorated rooms to get ready in and plenty of outdoor space. this venue has all of the charm of a country pub and only a stone’s throw from Derby City Centre.
I’ve only shot one wedding here so far, but I had a great time and as it’s less than 10 minutes from home I am definitely hoping for more! Natasha and David had a Bridgerton themed wedding which worked so well with the large ceremony room with it’s arched windows overlooking the gardens, and moulded ceilings and doorframes. The couple really went to town and with the help of Natasha’s mum made all the floral decor themselves, which, if you’re having a Bridgerton wedding is a lot!
It was a rainy day but it didn’t cause us any problems, we used a wide foyer space with glass doors for the group shots which worked really well, and the energy and atmosphere in the bar during the drinks reception was great for having so many people in the space.
The spacious ceremony room is turned around during the drinks reception for the wedding breakfast and evening party. I’d definitely recommend hiring evening entertainment that brings party lights with them as there aren’t any at the venue and I felt it needed something to give more of a party atmosphere.
Natasha and David made full use of the outdoor space in spite of the rain and squeezed a confetti shot, sparkler moment and candlelit handfasting into the dry spells.
