Colourful Festival Styled Shoot.

Museum of Making, Derby

"I want to paint the rest of my days with the best colours."

The Museum of Making is housed in an old silk mill next to the river in Derby. It is conveniently less than a mile down the road from my home and I had shot a couple of weddings there already. so when the team at the museum suggested we do a photoshoot it seemed like a no brainer.

Fast forward to a few planning sessions in the pub later and somehow our local easy shoot has turned into four shoots in one day. Luckily it was all organised by the Derby Museums team so my input in the run up to it was minimal. However it was on the day that I really had my work cut out for me!

This colourful shoot brought local makers and suppliers together to create a down-to-earth wedding that embraced individuality, personality and fun. Bringing a festival feel into The Italian Mill in Derby’s Museum of Making, this shoot merged the culture of a museum wedding in an historic building with the creativity and vibrancy of all those involved.

We wanted this shoot to be authentic and achievable; a set-up that real couples can appreciate and recreate. Whether they go and make the things they see themselves, or work with makers and creatives like our fantastic team of suppliers to bring their vision to life. This shoot is a celebration of the handmade presented in bold colours with a fun can-do attitude.
