Fifties Intimate Seaside Wedding
Who doesn’t love the British seaside? Good old Blighty: kiss me quick hats, donkies and all the fun of the fair. With the resurgence of the staycation, British weddings and indeed honeymoons (stunnymoons?) are very à la mode.
Jimmy and Dean opted to get hitched in an intimate fifties-style seaside wedding ceremony with just two grooms, two bridesmaids and an unruly dog.
Many people don’t realise that if you engage the services of a celebrant, you can have your ceremony absolutely anywhere. You still have to do the legal bit in a registry office, but that’s just paperwork. A celebrant will personalise your service and you can have any readings or songs you like, religious or not. Leni from Ceremonies by Leni Robson took the reins for this unique union with hilarious shared stories from Jimmy and Dean and a fitting reading of ‘I wanna be yours‘ by John Cooper Clarke.
The ceremony was followed by fish and chips straight out of the paper and ice creams on the pier. We spent some time on the beach to take some portraits and group shots before heading into the arcade with a bag full of 2ps and a determination to win at air hockey. Any fun activities you can add into your wedding day like this will make for great natural photos, meaning you get to have fun and not feel under pressure to pose, but also get some quirky candid photos for the album.
